Contributing to Scottish Innovation

Gaining recognition as a successful Scottish SME

Watt Laser has been gained recognition as a successful Scottish SME for our contribution to Scotland’s advanced manufacturing sector, following visits from senior government representatives and acknowledgement in Scottish Parliament.

Kristen Rivett

Business Development Executive

We’ve been spotlighted for our innovation and global reach in laser technology. Last year, we welcomed Claire Haughey MSP to our premises in Rutherglen, Glasgow where we demonstrated our technologies and the advancements taking place in our innovation hub. During a subsequent discussion in the Scottish Parliament soon after, Claire said:

‘Watt Laser in my constituency are a small business who are becoming leaders in their field, and they export all around the world. They are so close to the cutting-edge of technology that some of the equipment they demonstrated when I visited them recently is one of a kind’.

Her comments stand as a testament to Scotland’s future in high-value manufacturing, photonics and industrial innovation, and Watt Laser’s contribution in these.

More recently, we were honoured to host Richard Lochhead, Scotland’s Minister for Small Business, Innovation, Tourism and Trade. His visit opened up further exciting discussions about Scotland’s innovative landscape.

We’re proud to be part of these ongoing discussions about Scotland’s global potential and excited to continue growing in and contributing to this thriving sector.
