The System

The QC100 is a dedicated AOI, measurement and calibration system for EMS providers. It features a high-powered telecentric lens, Renishaw 1-micron scales and Watt Laser’s proprietary inspection and measurement software.

The use of high-precision stages and advanced image processing algorithms provide comprehensive inspection of aperture attributes, checking for presence, dimension, position and area. The system measures and detects issues that could impact print quality, including clogged apertures and the presence of solder paste and debris.

The QC100 performs comprehensive checks upon receiving a stencil to guarantee its quality and alignment with the Gerber data. It assigns test data to stencil identifier, facilitating traceability and enabling future comparisons.

The system boasts advanced capabilities in monitoring the lifespan of stencils based on usage. This enables proactive maintenance and replacement, anticipating and preventing issues such as excessive material build-up or blockage, safeguarding the process and ensuring consistent print quality every time.

The QC100 can also measure PCBs against the original data, meticulously checking for any deviations in dimensions, alignment or other critical parameters. The QC100 will then generate Gerber data that has been adjusted to fit the PCB to allow manufacture of the perfect stencil.
